AOL gets the Boot

When the top chaps at Time Warner, formerly AOL Time Warner as of today, designed the new Time Warner logo to look like TimeWarner (no space), they're publicly admitting that "AOL Time Warner" was a stinking long name and they're not going to take it any more.

Shorter, bigger

If you're seeing the Before and After picture right now, it's obvious to any animal with eyes that without the excess characters, TimeWarner is clearly bigger, so bugs flying around in New York City will now recognize the logo from 100 feet away instead of 10 feet. It's even more efficient than "Time Warner" with a space, so the merger two years ago did something good. That's why the old boys like DaimlerChrysler took care of the spaces in their names nice and early.
